Nairobi’s skyscrapers can be seen from the park.
Located in the southern outskirt of Nairobi, it is one of the top rated national parks in Kenya. You can soak in its beauty with the backdrop of the skyscrapers of the city. The park is the only protected part of the Athi-Kapiti ecosystem that sits so closely to the capital. The Kenyan people really feel proud of the fence that separates the park from the city and runs along a highway leaving the airport behind.
Sometimes the conflict arises between the animals of the park and the local people for its proximity to the city and the animals are threatened along with their migration routes. Yet despite its proximity to city this small African national park, boasts a large and varied wildlife population that is worth watching. . It is magnificent to watch the migrating herbivores gather in the park during the dry season, and it is one of Kenya’s most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries: which have become the centre of attraction since centuries.
