APPLYING FOR A VISA
To explore the most convenient methods of obtaining a Tanzanian visa, we’ve broken down two options for you. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each method? Find out in this article to help you make an informed decision.
TANZANIA VISA: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
To journey to Tanzania, securing a visa is essential. Here’s what you need to know about the costs:
If you’re British, the fee is £40 when applying in advance.
In Tanzania, it costs 50 dollars or 50 euros, which may seem surprising considering the higher value of euros. Nevertheless, it’s important to bring dollars if you’re applying for a visa upon arrival, as it will cost you less.
If you’re a US citizen, you’ll need a multiple entry visa and must pay US $100.
ONLINE APPLICATION:
Should you opt for an online visa application to Tanzania, you can conveniently do so via the official government link: https://visa.immigration.go.tz/.
APPLYING FOR A VISA UPON ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA:
Considering applying for a visa locally upon your arrival? At Tanzania’s airports, there’s a dedicated counter for visa applications if you haven’t completed the process online before your trip. While the application process is relatively straightforward, the waiting time for approval varies based on airport traffic. Even if you’re among the first passengers to disembark, you might still encounter a wait of around 20 minutes, depending on the crowd. During peak seasons, the wait time can extend to an hour or more, which can be inconvenient after a long flight.
OUR RECOMMENDATION:
Most travelers prefer to be well-prepared to avoid any delays upon arrival. This is especially true during high season when visa demand is unpredictable. Additionally, if one parent is traveling alone with a child, a document granting permission for the child’s trip from the other parent is required, written in English. Obtaining this document remotely after arriving in Tanzania can be challenging. To streamline your journey, we provide all essential information in our information pack, ensuring you’re well-prepared. Also, remember that your passport must remain valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date from Tanzania.
Stay ahead and apply for your Tanzania visa online before departure! If you choose to apply for a visa in Tanzania, that’s perfectly fine!
